Introduction

Nutrition and Dietetics degree program equips graduates with a well-rounded understanding of nutrition and diet planning. Students gain the knowledge and skills to become proficient nutrition experts capable of addressing diverse health challenges. The curriculum includes basic concepts of nutrition, diet planning, and hospitality operations, preparing graduates for employment in the hospitality industry. Graduates are trained to provide nutritional counselling, education, and food service management in clinical, community, and food service settings.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Passing of 10+2 or its equivalent examination in Medical conducted by a recognized Board / University / Council.

Programme Educational Objectives (PEO)

PEO1: Synthesize scientific information to understand the relationship between food and nutrition and human health and disease.

PEO2: Deliver effective nutrition counselling and education to individuals, groups, and communities using a range of communication methods.

PEO3: Evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nutrition recommendations for clinical, community, and food service settings by using critical thinking and scientific reasoning.

PEO4: Create and implement inclusive and sustainable strategies for food access, procurement, preparation, and safety that meet the diverse needs of individuals, families, and communities.

Programme Outcomes (PO)

PO1: Use insights from the physical and biological sciences to understand how food and nutrients influence health and disease.

PO2: Offer nutrition counselling and education to individuals, groups, and communities across all stages of life, employing diverse communication strategies.

PO3: Assess nutrition information using scientific reasoning for use in clinical, community, and food service settings.

PO4: Develop and execute strategies for food access, procurement, preparation, and safety for individuals, families, and communities.
